might not be a bad idea to completely reinstall the Yahoo toolbar if it starts crashing again, after once again performing the reset.

i find that hard to imagine, tho logic would say that it is so. does anyone else experience this? Yahoo toolbar isn't exactly an unpopular add-on from an unknown provider.

My mother keeps installing it and it keeps crashing her IE - I keep uninstalling it and it stops crashing.

Now that you have confirmed it I'll go back to her and show her this post....

BTW, did you follow Brink's second post?

this one? DEP - Enable or Disable No, it looks a bit scary for me. But I am gonna remove the Yahoo toolbar now- let's see if it crashes. It's too bad as I use it a lot.

Might the Yahoo toolbar also be the reason why..sometimes..I clikc on some random link...ANY link..and..

I get IEwindowafterIEwindowafterIEwindowafterIEwindowafterIEwindowafterIEwindowafterIEwindowafterIEwindowafter
open up? Like maybe 40 or 50 of them all stacked on top? MOST annoying.http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/120778-dep-enable-disable.html

Eknirb,

IE7 comes as a part of Vista. You would have to reinstall Vista to reinstall IE7. I am not sure why that version of IE7 for XP was able to install on your Vista, but I would advise to uninstall it to prevent any possible problems from it.

From you posts above, your problem is clearly the Yahoo Toolbar add-on that is causing the problem. If you would like a good toolbar that will work properly with IE7, then IE7 Pro would be a good choice.

If you are set on wanting the Yahoo Toolbar, then you might contact Yahoo and see what they say for a possible solution.

Hope this helps,

well, Yahoo toobar is gone. Replaced it with Google toolbar. IE7 seems 50% faster.
If I want to reinstall Vista, that would mean hauling this to Best Buy as I dont have confidence to do that myself.

Would the Yahoo toolbar also cause the dozens of IE windows to open over each other?

And have YOU ever tried to get a response from yahoo support?
