    Windows Mail Problem

For some odd reason, I seem to get duplicates of every email received. Usually I get two copies, on rare occasions three or four, and last weekend I got more than 30 copies of a single email.

I have already turned off the anti-spam feature of my anti-virus program.

Is there any way to change the settings so I get only one copy of each email?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am running Vista Home Premium, 32 bit, with 3GB of memory on Dual CPU E2180 @ 2 GHz.

Hello Anubis, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Check to see is you have duplicate email accounts setup in Windows Mail (Tools - Accounts) with the same email address. If you do, then just delete the duplicates.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

No. I only have one account per email address.

And it does not seem to matter which server it comes from (I have earthlink, gmail and other accounts being downloaded), they all seem to get the double (usually) posts.

I just came across this and hope it will help. Notice the reference to server time-outs. Perhaps this is something else that you could try.

    Thank you for the article.

In Windows Mail, the maximum setting for server timeout is only 5 minutes, but I changed my settings from one minute to five minutes. I'll see how it works.
