Re: Losing internet in any internet browser after 1-2 hours?

It is most certainly an issue with Vista, perhaps only x64. I had this issue on and off for weeks now. At first, I thought it was my firewall, so I uninstalled, and installed a new one. No help. Maybe my modem was dying? Bought a new one. . . same issue. . .An ISP issue? Nope, everything fine on their part. Was lost until a few days ago, when quite a few other people seem to be posting about the same issue. Anything using Port 80 seems to slam to a halt, only to be just fine minutes or hours later. . .I has something to do with an update sometime about 6-8 weeks ago I'd guess, far too long to do a system restore to try and narrow it down. . . hopefully MS will get it resolved in a near future update.

Re: Losing internet in any internet browser after 1-2 hours?

I tried to sign up in live.com to post in microsoft but it always said that I reached the maximum bla bla bla. WTF is this? I don't use there mail. Now I can't report this serious problem.

BTW, I'm using 32 bit.

Re: Losing internet in any internet browser after 1-2 hours?

Hey, I found out that vista's december update is the culprit on my internet problem. I reinstall my OS without updating and install the usual programs I use then voila! No more problem with my internet.

Re: Losing internet in any internet browser after 1-2 hours?

What's with the lol?

I don't know which update cause the problem but I have the updates of September 2008. I think it's the december updates because this problem starts 1-2 weeks ago. Maybe I'll disable windows update until Microsoft release a fix for this.

Re: Losing internet in any internet browser after 1-2 hours?

Oh, I apologize, I miss-read your post. I thought you said you'd discovered which update caused the problem. I was laughing because you said (I thought) that you'd found the solution, but didn't tell us!

Though, I believe the problem started in November for me, so longer back than the December updates.

Re: Losing internet in any internet browser after 1-2 hours?

Ok. That's nothing.

Anyway, I'm sorry I don't know which specific update it cause the problem. But right now, I didn't experience any issue with my internet.

Now I'm moving to x64 maybe later or tomorrow and I hope it will be good.

Re: Losing internet in any internet browser after 1-2 hours?

x64 is vastly superior to x86, none of the bugs that plagued the 32 bit vista seem to be a problem in x64. . . OTHER than this annoying port 80 garbage. . .at least that may help narrow it down a bit, it's effecting x86 and x64, and MAY have been due to an x64 update in November and an x86 update in December. . .any update that fits that description anyone?
