No Internet Explorer

Hi,

I cant get hyper links to work in windows mail, I'm runnung Vista Premium. Tryed setting browser to IE but it won't let me, any idears?

Also how do I stop wep pages automatically popingup when i'm on line?

Hello Platties, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Double check in Default Programs and make sure that Internet Explorer and Windows Mail is set as the default program with all of their associations set to them as well.

For the pop-ups, you can turn on Pop-up Blocker in Internet Explorer to see if that can help.

The hyper link problem is fixed .......... yahoo.

The pop up buisness still continues, but my fault, it is't pop up's, it's 'tabs' that keep opening, when ever I open a internet explorer browser page, can you help?

Hi Shawn,

I followed your tutorial and stopped tabs from opening, but now a new web page opens up all by itself, and the content is sometimes not suitable for my small children. I've never had this problem before, but I've never had Vista before. It happens after I have opened internet explorer and then gone to a web site of my choice, the computer just opens up another web page. How can I stop this please?

These will be pop-ups from the website that you are visiting. Usually advertisement. Check to make sure that you have Pop-up Blocker turned on. You may also want to install a free program like Spywareblaster to help stop these to.

Another option is to have your children use a Standard user account instead with Parental Controls turned on for it setup to filter out the websites you do not want them to see or all except the one you say are ok.
