Firefox conflicts

Anyone know of any problems between Firefox and Vista. Had a laptop for a week with Firefox and had to reformat the laptop back to factory settings. Acer helpdesk said it could have been Firefox. I would have drops in wireless connection and programms freezing which could only be cleared by hard reset.

Any ideas. Also had zone alarm, AVG 8 and Spy bot running on it.

Since re format only used McAfee free trial and Internet Explorer and it has been working fine.

Any ideas?

I am running Firefox with Vista with no problems. As a matter of fact, my system is more stable now that IE 7 isn't freezing up for no reason.

I agree 100%. IE7 freezes were a daily fact of life, sometimes up to 5-6 times in a 3 hour session, especially with multi pages open. With FF3, it's a very, very rare event. I could count on one hand, the number of freeze events that have taken place since I moved to FF3 browser in Dec 08.:D Also run Spybot as well as CCleaner. AV etc is Windows Live OneCare, and no problems with that either.

I don't think FF is the problem, maybe running more than 1 major AV at the same time is causing your problems.

You really should only have 1 major AV installed and actively monitoring, not 2 or more..as this can and has been known to cause a lot of conflicting problems. 1 AV and an anti spyware program usually is fine, but not Zone Alarm and AVG together.

Zone Alarm is a likely suspect when using it with Firefox:

With FF3 would I run into issues with McAfee security center? I would hate to mess my antivirus up! I agree, IE7 freezes up on me atleast once a day!!
