Outlook 2003 & Saving Atachment issues

You know, for the most part, I just deal with it but it is getting a little annoying to say the least so I am going to ask the question in hopes someone has experienced it or have an answer.

I receive e-mails with multiple files and I need to save them to my hdd, my problem is that, many a times, the files will have the same File Name (how is this even possible?) and of course, as soon as I tell outlook to save all attachments, it greeds me with... Same file name, do you wish to replace it?.

Is there anything I can do to make Outlook rename those files all on its own or, at the very least, give me an option to tell it to do so? Did I not installed everything there was to be installed and this is why it doesn't give me those options?

Thanks

Oh, this is happening on an XP Pro w/SP3 x32 OS and Microsoft Office Pro Outlook 2003.

Hi,

I had the same problem about a year ago... I've noted the filename proposed (used by outlook) is the subject of the mail.
I've solved it by writting my own addin. Concept, is to register your addin to the NewMail event, then modify the subjet by adding a timestamp like #20090315032700, there is no mail with same timestamp, so no mail with same filename.
If you want, I can send you my addin (or the code), just reply to this post and/or send me a private message.

bos.
