i cant sent photos to using email

hi there im new to the forum and im looking for some help,i have a toshiba equium 32 bit i think.the problem is when i go to email a photo its asking for some sort of server or pop address im not very experienced with computers but could someone give me some advice it would be very appreciated,i can send normal emails but not photos please help

what type of email program are you using? All web-based email programs require certain protocols to be filled in before they will work. Have you ever been able to send photos before?

no i havent,do you have any clues whats wrong cheers

Go to your ISP web site. Look for a email FAQ that lists your POP and SMTP server addresses. It should also have information on configuring your mail client.

Celtichero, do you have an email account? Did you set it up on your mail client? Can you email plain text? What are you using?

It sounds like you haven't set up your email client for use yet. If you are using Windows Mail to try to send the photos, you have to configure it with your SMTP and POP3 server addresses and account information before you can use the program to send/receive mail.

To do this, contact your internet service provider (ISP) as SCSIraidGURU advised, and obtain the server addresses from them. Then open windows mail, go to tools, then accounts. If you have previously added an account, double click on that account and then the servers tab. You will see 2 fields for the POP3 and SMTP servers. Enter the information obtained from your ISP and save the changes. You will also see fields for your username and password. Be sure to fill those out as well. (Your username will be the first part of your email address prior to the @ symbol usually). If you haven't previously added an account, click on "Add" and Windows Mail will then walk you through adding everything you need to, to create the new account.

Once you have correctly configured your email client, you should then be able to send attachments simply by dragging them into the new message pane and dropping them anywhere in the main window, or by clicking on the paperclip icon to add an attachment.

Yahoo mail is a browser based email, rather than a dedicated email client program. To add attachments to an email through a browser based email, you can not simply drag and drop files like you can with a dedicated email client. You have to click on the attachments icon or link in the Yahoo mail window, then browse to the file you want to attach and upload it.

thanks superfuzz youve cracked it,iam now a happy man i can now send photos to anyone in the world,but also thank the other ones for there help what a great forum ive joined thanks guys
