Hi,

I am having a problem: On my vista business laptop, whenever I try download a program, i keep getting nsis errors "installer integrity check failed" It happens with any file I install. I'm trying to download xampp but its happening to that. I also cannot install java, or java devalopment kit. I'm not using any downloading programs and i have tried downloading through firefox, ie7, and opera.

ANy help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm virtually certain that's not a Windows error message, and for some odd reason almost all of the hits I get when searching for it point to French forums. If you're unable to find what add-on may be linked with that message, I'd suggest testing what happens when you boot to [safe mode + net] and attempting a download/install from there.

I can't seem to get an internet connection in safemode with networking.

I tried wired and wireless, i jus get "unidentified network" in network and shareing centre.

Then perhaps try to focus on figuring out what "NSIS" stands for in that context and hence what's throwing the error message. Norton Something Internet Security?

Try deactivating or uninstalling any and all anti-virus and anti-malware and then testing again.

I have tried disableing norton and windows firewall, all to no avail. I have used ccleaner and it may have worked.

The nsis error seems to be to do with the program. I also tried to use the nsis command line to bypass some check, but that failed.

Seems the problem is still not resolved, and i'm at a loss as to what to do. When I tried to download jdk, 73 mb file in under 2 mins. Doesn't sound right. Yes, my internet connection is fast, don't think that fast though.

Which program? Norton? If you're confident that NSIS=Norton, and it sure does sound that way, then it's obviously not totally disabled since it's still throwing error messages.

I'd suggest researching a way to disable "NSIS" completely, whatever that may be.
