You can simply uninstall IE 8. Than you'll have IE 7 back

Great Zeus!! Never thought I'd see you in cyberspace...:)
Some of the simplist things can seem so difficult to me at times...am definitely in the 'don't' column of those who 'understand'.

Thanks for the quick reply.

RE: IE 8 vs IE 7

...Zeus...the uninstall of IE 8 worked fine, but didn't solve the real problem I was/am having with IE.

I cannot access my gmail accts w/IE7 still. I have had trouble w/my ISP since day one; have had numerous techs come out and no one can seem to solve the problem. I finally talked to a tech this a.m. (8/18/09) who advised me to download FireFox and see if it would work...it does. This afternoon I went next door to my neighbor's who said she was having problems getting online, and lo and behold, there's the same problem I was having. The Windows error msgs say that IE cannot access the webpage, and to contact my ISP. There is a conflict somewhere, but I can't make them admit it's on their system. I don't know enough to argue w/them, but do know how to raise enough Cain they keep sending techs out.

If a solution is ever found I'll post it here, or if you or others have ever run into this, please let me know. Miss Mary's problem will be called in tomorrow...and the dance will begin again I suppose...:sarc:
