| Vista Home Premium 32 bit | Windows Live Mail Problem We've got 4 email accounts on our computer - the most frequently used 2 are Windows Live Mail. The 2 that don't work are Windows Mail. I've contacted my ISP who says that the accounts are working ok and that the problem is on my computer. I've tried downloading Windows live to the accounts that don't work but got a "catastrophic failure". I'm using Vista 32 bit and Kapersky anti virus. Any suggestions woulld be greatly appreciated. |

| Vista Home Premium SP2 32bit / Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit | Re: Windows Live Mail Problem I think you may be a little confused here, Windows Live Mail and Windows Mail are the programs that manage your email accounts and Newsgroups if you have them. Windows Mail is the one that comes as standard with Vista, Windows Live Mail is more feature rich and you download that. You have to set up your email accounts in whichever program it is you are using be that Windows Live Mail or Windows Mail, I don't think it's possible to use both and you say that Windows Live Mail is working so have you set up all your email accounts into that ? |

| Vista Home Premium 32 bit | Re: Windows Live Mail Problem 2 of the e mail accounts are hardly ever used so they haven't been updated to Windows live. Now my son wants to use his. The accounts are set up correctly, I have checked this - the webmail with Virgin Media works ok, but I'd prefer the Windows version. I did wonder if there would be some conflict if 2 accounts were the Live version and 2 not, but since I've not been able to download the live version on my son's account I'm stuck. |

| Vista Home Premium SP2 32bit / Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit | Re: Windows Live Mail Problem I don't follow what is it that you are trying to download to your son's account and what account do you mean? Have you got him set up with his own account under the operating system, is that what you mean, if you have and he is only a limited user that would be why you can't download anything to his account he would need to have an Administrators account. Can you also tell us what email program you have set as the default. |
