I tried to a search on this particular issue, but did not find an identical problem.
Every few days my home page get hijacked by MSN and a window comes up to download I.E 8 which I have already since last summer. Each time I change back to my home page and click on ask me later on the I.E. 8 popup because there is no other option. I did all the scans with Zone Alarm Extreme Security, ad-aware,
S&D spybot, malwarebytes and CC cleaner. Nothing showed up. I appreciate any help.

I had a similar problem with Vista. What worked for me was to make sure that all accounts had IE8 and when it popped up in my account, I told it to install. That was the end of it.

If that does not work, try creating a new user account, yours could be corrupted.

Hallo Johannes, You may find Superantispyware good for this as it has options to control Hi Jacking.

SUPERAntiSpyware.com - Downloads

I myself would be wanting to know why it is happening?
All i can think of at the moment is possibly a MSN third party cookie (tracking cookie) is active.
A scan with Superantispyware will find any of those that are in your system, if i think of anything else i will post back :D

EDIT; actually i see you use Ccleaner that would have cleaned out any tracking cookies.
Check your Internet options to and delete MSN if it is there

I have downloaded and run the Superantispyware, (discovered one cookie) Ran the CC Cleaner again (incidently, the I.E 8 popup window came on that site) and dowloaded the I.E. 8 again. I will report back if and when my home page (google) gets hijacked again. Thanks guys for the replies.:)

Well, nothing changed with the I.E.8 popup, I went to the readers digest web site and this time it came up at that site. My home page did not change this time (Yet).
While it is no big deal to click each time let me know later, it is a trifle anoying.
I did download it twice thinking it may stop the popups. I'll post again if my home page get hijacked again by MSN
