Solved Can I hide my e-mail address from recipients

My question is whether I could hide my own e-mail address from the person I am sending the e-mail to, the same way I can hide my caller`s ID in a mobile phone?
I have been selling a few things on-line on craiglist, & this site has the facillity of hiding my e-mail, so the people that answer to my add can send me an e-mail, but without knowing my real e-mail address.
The problem is that when I reply to their messages, they can see my e-mail address.
I am with Yahoo. Is there any way of doing this that is not just creating a new e-mail address just for this sort of thing?
If Yahoo doesn`t, does Windows Mail or Outlook have a feature to hide my own e-mail address?

With Windows Live, I think, that if you go into tools>accounts. It will show reply to address. Try putting something like donotsendhere.com etc. See if that works.

Click on the first icon. You will see what I mentioned to you.

Go into the Properties of your account, that is where you'll find the part for doing what richc46 advised.

So, in Reply address, I should write whatever I want?

That is what I would do, then send an email, and see if it works. If you have no addy you can use, post and I will PM you with my spam email box

you,ll need to look at the message source to check if the mail was really sent anonymously but be warned that servers and clients can reject the mail if it isnt named or if the return path cant be checked and anonymous mail can sometimes break the toc of your isp contract.

I don`t really wanna remain anonymous all the time. I only need to remain anonymous when I`m replying e-mails from people I know nothing about, like people that contact me from craiglist.com.
I don`t understand why this would break any contract, when we can use the same method to cover our mobile phone numbers. It`s a safe way to reply to people I don`t know, so I don`t get eventually inundated with spam.

I think that the way we set up your email account, will be perfect for you. Take note of the previous posters comments, regarding the TOS of your ISP.
