If you have problems with your email, one of the first things you should do is check the settings in your email client and compare them with the settings that can be found on your ISP/Email provider's website. Sometimes, the port numbers change, and you might need to update your settings to the current ones. If nothing has changed, and all your settings are correct according to the website, then it might possibly be an issue at their end as opposed to a problem on your machine. Try accessing your emails through the web interface instead of your email client for a while. Although the web interface will allow you to send and receive emails, it is usually only a basic interface offering limited functionality. Because of this, keep checking the client so that you can resume using it when service is restored.

When checking for new messages, my windows mail hangs and won't download. What is the solution?

When I try to forward an email that contains photos, I often, not always but often, get a popup message saying some of the photos cannot be found and asking if I still want to send it. If I say YES, the recipient receives the email but the photos have been turned into a Slide Show!

How can I change this so that the photos I've sent are embedded in the email message. And I would like to do it in one fell swoop. I don't want to save each individual photo and then embed them in a new email.

I mean to post a question - hope i'm doing it in the right place. Using Windows Vista and Windows Mail. I want to send a contact group to a friend so he can use it to send out messages to my group. (He's my publisher). I think I'm supposed to export the group, but each time I try I hit a snag. The Help section isn't very helpful. Any experience with this?
