Window Mail Problem

Hello Gang!!

I currently have Window VISTA - and I am expreincing soem problem with emails.

I can send email and I recieve emails... some of the email sender do not show in my inbox, nor in the junk mail folder.... The email that do not reach my inbox I know I receive them because when I connect to my internet provider mailbox via web, I see those emails....Furthermore, I would say that some emails are going in the inbox (window mail) but not all, the one that I do not see in Window Mail, I can see themon the web

Anyone ever experience anything like this!!??

Suggestions :

1. Check your AV, anti-virus, program. See if it has e-mail scanning option running. If yes, please disable that option.

2. You e-mail account might be corrupted. Suggest that you REMOVE the account. Then re-configure the same account with the same settings.
That should get the missing e-mails downloading from your server.

your response is greatly appreciated. I will certainly look into the AV. However I did removed the Email account and recreated it.

Same problem!!

You removed and recreated your e-amil account already ? That FAST ? Are you sure ? What e-mail account is that ? I mean who is your ISP or e-mail server ?

No other suggestions. Not until after you have checked your AV.
1. Disable e-mail scanning option.
2. If still no go. Disable, temporarily, your AV entirely.

Hello my friend,

I had done the recreation of the account prior posting! My ISP is VIDEOTRON. I live in Montreal, QC, CANADA and this ISP is one of the leader. I did try to troubleshoot this problem with them and they told me that the problem is not them but rather my computer!!

anyway, I will investigate the AV

By the way, I use Trend Micro for AV...last scan is trouble free!!

Here is how I fixed my Windows Mail problem.....first, a bit of background....all of a sudden one day ALL MY MESSAGES disappeared and I could not send or receive emails....I thought my world had come to an end....there were a lot of important emails I needed....

Here is the fix, it was easy....your emails are located here in Vista (C:\Users\xxxxxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders)

the xxx is your personal tag/name....

anyway, what I did first was recreate my email settings, then I copied all my messages from the above referenced spot back to their respective folders (paste) to recreate everything, you have to do the CONTENTS one folder at a time....this is the manual way...and special folders have to be recreated first (I had several)......

or, download the small utility WMUtil.exe and follow the prompts (may or may not work), depends on the depth of the corruption and your special folders...

as far as why it happened one must wonder, my total corruption happened AFTER I changed my Antivirus to Microsoft's own Security Essentials, hmmm, makes one wonder, yes????
