I hate Bellsouth's email system

Or should I say ATT, they partnered with Yahoo to handle my email and it sucks, I have Windows Live Mail and I love it, I don't have to bring up a browser to check my email, just click Start, Windows Live Mail and I WAS able to check my Hot Mail account and 2 Bellsouth accounts but recently I can not send or receive email through Bellsouth, I get incorrect password on both accounts, it use to work fine.

From reading post it seems like ATT/BELLSOUTH/YAHOO doesn't want me using WLM, I took screen shots when everything did work and I have re-enterd everything but no luck, a call to Belsouth tech support could not help with Outlook or WLM programs.

If I could get Comcast I would drop ATT/Bellsouth/Yahoo so fast and never look back, this is crazy to have to bring up my web browser to check my email, my defalt email address in my browser isn't Hotmail or the other two Bellsouth accounts, SO, I have to sign out of it then sign in to 1 Bellsouth account, check my email then sign out, then sign back in on my other Bellsouth account, then sign out so I can sign back into my defalt email account, I am so fed up with this that I want to scream.

OK!

What help do you need or is voicing your opinion enough?

Okay!

What help can you provide, searching has turned up no solutions for the problem, Att walked me through the setup for their server when I installed WLM, it use to work but doesn't now, as I said I made screen shots of every page in every setup tap of Bellsouth's server setup, but it doesn't work now, could it have something to do with WLM? I don't know.

As far as voicing my opinion I didn't lie about how crazy it is to have to sign in and out of different email accounts to check email when WLM did it for me, I am sorry if it offended you by my talking about how far in the past ATT/Bellsouth/Yahoo are still living in.

Thank you for the explanation

As for the first post I was'nt sure what assistance you needed, hence the question.

Please delete the curent account in WLM & start again. This should re-establish the setting automatically.

I would also ask you to post any fault/ failed screen messages you recieve during the set-up.

If you need the set-up files please download them from here: -

Here's some configuration help for WLM: How to configure/re-configure a non-Windows Live Hotmail account in Windows Live Mail. From what I read, it should be possible to use the same screen to view all your accounts (except perhaps Yahoo unless you have the paid premium version) without needing to constantly login and logout.

I recommend you post your problem (focusing more on the multiple simultaneous login issue and the issue with BellSouth and trying to avoid commenting about how WLM or these e-mail providers is terrible as they may be able to help with the specific problems but can't do anything about the program itself or with BellSouth or Yahoo and may choose to avoid the question if they feel you're going to beat them up over things they can't control and you want people to reply with helpful suggestions and hints) in the WLM Forum here: Sending and Receiving Mail (Synchronization in Windows Live Mail) Threads. Or better still, separate the problems and post two threads - one for each different problem.

If the problem with BellSouth is just the password, I'm not sure I understand why WLM is having an issue. It must be more than that - some type of setting (perhaps that it does or does not require secure authorization or something of that nature and is set wrong - yes, I know you spent time with them but perhaps another call is warranted and immediately ask for a supervisor before saying anything else to the person who answers so you get someone at least marginally qualified hopefully). Same for ATT (though that issue may be because of the type of Yahoo account you have as noted in the article above).

I realize I haven't provided you with any real solutions other than referring you to others who can probably assist better than we can with provider-specific issues and setup problems with multiple accounts (if the above didn't help).

I hope this helps. If not, please post back with specific questions about how we can assist you - keeping in mind that we are not the email providers and have no control over their guidelines or rules and do not know their specific settings.

Good luck!

Hi Lottiemansion
I did what you said about deleting my two bellsouth.net email accounts then re-installed them worked fine all day yesterday, now it is back to the way it was when I created the post.

Unable to send or receive messages for the Bellsouth (my user ID) account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR [AUTH] invalid user/password
Server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC92

Port: ( I removed to much information)

So I am back to square one, haven't looked at the other information you posted but will be looking and trying it.

Hi,

I can only assume that the email setting you are referring to for the account are the same as the ones listed here: -

Having a Problem? - Send Email - AT&T

I don't have any problem getting my email going through att.Yahoo.com, I signed out and signed back in with the same user id and password as I have setup in WLM so I know my user id and password is right. I tried the things in the link above but still can't get to my bellsouth accounts using WLM.

I can see my hotmail account and the two bellsouth accounts and was able to access all of them at one time but the bellsouth ones are the ones that are not working now, I did as one of the posters said I deleted the bellsouth accounts and re-installed them and it worked for a day but today one of them stopped working again and it did not connect to my hotmail account this time.

All of my ranting about bellsouth att yahoo was just that, I have nothing bad to say about WLM I love it, I think ATT and Yahoo is blocking it somehow because another software is trying to access their server or something.

I will check the other thread out.

Thanks
