can't save or print .emls?

Hey, I need some help and hope someone has an idea!

I think I have a registry problem - but not sure. I am not a good registry editor, and need help.

When I attempt to save an .eml file from my webmail provider (very small local provider), it will only save as "All files" and it doesn't have a file type. It will open in Thunderbird, but when I go to print it prints as a .txt file.
I am ashamed to admit it might be my fault - I did some registry fixes when I got this computer and could no longer view my video files because they were saved in an unusual format. Hope anyone has ideas to help. I need help fast - I need to print a bunch of emails for a complaint on behalf of my disabled child.

THANK YOU

Welcome
You brought up registry and not me.
I think fooling with the registry is unwise, unless you are proficient in that area
I tell you this not to scold but to warn. These chages involve registry, proceed with caution, back up and make a system restore point. I am not familiar with the consequnces

We also have a safer method that does not seem to include .eml

absolutely - warning understood. But I had to edit/send those videos to get him brain surgery and vista wouldn't do it w/o that fix. Would be so nice if I could just import a techie brain.

Actually the warning was not so much about the past, but more about the future. I truly want to be able to get the computer up to snuff; but because registry is involved I want to be sure we do not make it worse.
