I recently changed from Internet Explorer 8 to IE9. I use Windows Vista Home Premium Edition-X64 bit-SP2. I notice when I use Windows Mail I don't have a colored bar at the top of my message that is used to open all pictures contained in the message. I have no bar or pictures in my E-mail now. Evidently something was changed in IE9 to not feature this in Windows Mail. Can anyone out there in Cyber Land help me? Thank you.
I had the same problem with windows mail. I have searched the web and this forum for some answers.
Here is a short review of another person with the same problem.
Pros: The colors and depth of text is great. Quicker page fill and over all a great improvement
Cons: I still think it is slower than Chrome, but we will see. Also my Windows Mail lost it's ability to show attachments and I had to make several changes just to see my emails.
Summary: It is good. I don't think I would spend money on it, but it is an improvement over previous IE browsers. The mail thing was a pain and really they should give some instructions on this.
I went back to ie8 and everthing is back to normal with reference to windows mail.
I can say this much, you will need to double left click the subject line to open mail if there is a picture or video attached.
Then doubleclick the attachment in the e-mail. There is no paperclip that you can click on to get the pop up "Do you want to open this file etc". as before.
Also you can click on tools then options, then security and untick the Block images and other external content in HTML e-mail.
This should unblock all the e-mail that have pictures or videos etc in them.
I hope Microsoft will be addressing this issue.
Please post back if you find a solution. IE9 is very good and fast and I will use it later on. Good luck and this forum is the greatest for information and the people here will help all they can.
