Contact update problem

When I change a contact's address it appears in the file C:\user\contacts properly. However when I use the auto complete for a new e-mail, the old address keeps coming up. It is definitely not in the contacts file, so where is it? I have tried to search my whole computer including non-indexed files with no luck. The search returns the new contact address, but that is not the one that appears in a new message.

Where is the old address stored?

Thanks for any help

The auto-complete is a separate application. All it has is a list of the LAST 29 addresses you had used. The list will get changed as new addresses are used.
If you have an out-dated address in the list of 29, it will remain there until newer addresses are being used by you.
The list of 29 does not neccessarily match with your real contact list.
