I have Vista Home Premium; IE9; Acer Extensa 5620Z computer. Lately, everytime I want to check mail... I am asked for my password again, even tho it's clicked to "save".

My computer is also set up with Administrator User only. Would like to set up a standard user account...BUT when I tried it, all my favorites, photos, and valuable to me things are no longer available. how can I fix that as well?

Thanks!

Hello and welcome do a system restore not a factory restore, when you do a system restore you don't lose any files, pictures etc. Here are you options

Reading your post I am a little concerned about malware or virus. So I would want you to do the following first.

1. Run a full up-dated virus scan using your anti-virus software.

2. If you don't have malwarebytes then please download the free version and do a full scan of your system if those come back clean then do the system restore...Here is the link for malwarebytes. Malwarebytes

Suggestions only :

1. Make sure computer is virus free. Use Malwarebytes :
http://www.malwarebytes.org/.... pick the free version.

2. Run a system file check to make sure there are no corrupted files.
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/66978-system-files-sfc-command.html

3. Remove your e-mail account from Windows Mail > re-install the same account.

4. Uninstall IE9. The system will revert itself back to your previous IE version.

5. Consider installing Windows Live Mail, if you are using Windows Mail ( WM ) which has been " replaced " by Windows Live Mail ( WLM ) about 3 years ago.
Both WM and WLM will co-exist side by side.
WLM, upon installing, will automatically copy all data from WM. You don't need to " import/export " anything.
You can still use both WM and WLM. Just name one as your default.

Hello I did mention to do a AV and a malwarebytes scan in the above reply but it is worth mentioning a second time as this is very important to make sure you have no virus's a or malware before repairing your computer...

T-4-2 Thank you for your input and your help is greatly appreciated...

Thank you so much for your help! I don't' know how I did it, but thought to uninstall MailWasher from my computer, I have used it for YEARS... with no problem. Once I got rid of it, my mail problems stopped. I'm going to do without a few days, then do a re-install of MailWasher and see what happens.

Meanwhile, I saved your valuable help and suggestions.

Thanks again!
