Windows Live Mail, POP3 protocol account.

How does one know the size of attachment one can receive without jamming one's Inbox ?

Is it determined by the mail server or the individual computer ?
Does it matter if one uses a web-based mail account or a pop3 account ?

Thank you.

Hi,

Your mail attachment limit is set by the Email provider i.e Gmail, Yahoo Hotmail etc. not your computer.

Try to follow the rule of Web mail 10MB or 25MB each file per message up to your mail box size limit.

What is maximum email attachment size [Gmail, Yahoo]

Hi,

It is not a restriction from your ISP unless your email is with Bell.

It is with your email service provider, as per the above guidelines.

If you are using Bell Mail Suite, your attachment limit is upto 50 MB.

Bell Mail Suite - SkyDrive

Somehow I am unable to make myself understood.

I need to know how large of an attachment I can receive so that I can inform my friends of my limit.
Skydrive, which I have, is good only if the sender has Skydrive. In that case, the sender can post the attachment to Skydrive, sends me a link to it, and I can view it by logging on to the sender's skydrive.
Problem is : not everyone of my friends has Skydrive.

Thank you all for the replies.

I'll just resign to the fact that I'll have to tell my senders to zip the attachment if it is larger than 11 MB.

There is a mis-communication, I am afraid.

I am looking for the limit of attachment size I can receive.
I had received attachments over 12 MB.

One of my freinds asked if I would be able to receive an attachment of 14.1 MB, and I had no answer for him.
Thus my question here.

Thank you.

Hi,

Not forgetting what you said earlier the limit is both ways.

So you must have hit it lucky?

I knew the 10MB limit, but I also know it does not apply to me.
That is why I asked.

Don't worry about it. It is not important.

Thank you.
