Hello Danimar, welcome to the forum.

InPrivate browsing shouldn’t leave a trail in Internet Explorer (IE). However, please be informed that after activating InPrivate browsing, if you open another browser window from the IE shortcut or from the Start Menu, InPrivate Browsing will not protect that window. It only protects the tabs and windows that are opened within the InPrivate Browsing window.

An alternative to InPrivate Browsing.......
Here is the option which will erase all websites you have visited upon " exit ".

Open IE9 > Tools > Internet Options > Gerneral tab > under Browsing history heading, put a checkmark on " Delete browsing history on exit " > for a good measure, click Delete > checkmarks on the top 5 entries > Delete > OK

You only have to do this once.

P.S. That is what I did on my IE9 RTM. My " History " is always blank.
