Hi,

Am hoping someone here can help me. I have just set up a second e-mail account in Windows Mail but I don't want the signature for my default account showing up in e-mails sent from the second e-mail address.
I have created a new signature for the second e-mail address and checked the box in advanced settings so that when I send from account#1 it uses the sig for account#1 and done the same for account#2. I clicked on 'apply' and have double checked this is all ok but when I go to create a new message and choose to send it from Account#2, the sig for Account #1 remains in the message?

Help please!!

Michelle

Signature for different accounts does not work well with Windows Mail (its a bug)
May I suggest that you update to Windows Live Mail. It is the most current.
There are, also, several good email clients that are not Microsoft Products

Thanks so much! Glad I am not going mad!! However I am now sooooo confused as I have no idea what will be the right one to try out of the Top 11. They all seem to have some really bad reviews and the last thing I want is to download a new program and be worse off!

Would you suggest just to go for Windows Live to un-complicate things?

Would you suggest I just try Windows Live so I don't confuse things more?

I am now using Windows 7, so what I am going to tell you is out of my memory....

To be able to select the right signature for different account :
It may sound illogical to you, but that is the only way......

Open WM > Tools > Options > Signatures ......
un-check " Add signatures to all out-going messages "
check " Don't add signatures to Replies and Forwards "
click Ok when done.

How to select the correct signature :
After you are done composing and ready to mail it, click Insert > click Signatures > you should see a list of your signatures > pick the appropriate one.
