How do I get rid of LiveJasmine.com

This website appears in my address bar with all my bookmarks when I begin to type in it. It is not one of my bookmarks. I have my privacy settings set to clear all history when I close my browser (firefox) and I've ran malwarebytes, superantispyware, avira, and tdds and none of them found anything to remove this. I've also deleted my cookies but still no luck. How can I remove this? I know I can set it to just show nothing when I start typing, but I don't know how this got there and want to be sure it is removed. I am running Vista

Re: How do I get rid of LiveJasmine.com

    This claims to remove it:
    Remove Livejasmin.com, Livejasmin.com Remover

I haven't tried that tool myself, but I found a good review of it here:
Does SpyNoMore Really Work? An Unbiased, Factual Review..

As usual, you may want to backup your Registry with ERUNT

and/or make a restore point before running the scanner.

Re: How do I get rid of LiveJasmine.com

Hello, that site Miles has there is saying that Spynomore deemed your issue with livejasmine as a google redirect , I answered in Computers and Internet with a forte in Security, and Spynomore is not , in my opinion, what you want to use. It has a lousy WOT rating, just for starters, and is considered a malware in itself as well as a scam.. sorry Miles.
Your best bet is to run Malwarebytes , if indeed livejasmine.com is as Spynomore has indicated. How to use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to scan and remove malware from your computer

Re: How do I get rid of LiveJasmine.com

If you read the OP's post, malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware were already run.

I suspect the WOT rating has not much to do with reality and more to do with advertising/PR. I put in my own domain and got all '1's out of 5s. Which just means nobody knows about my site. Since I don't advertise to give away freeware, I'd be surprised at a higher score.

edit: before going crazy with security apps I would run CCleaner and set it to remove all browser and form fill history. See if that gets rid of the auto-completion.

Re: How do I get rid of LiveJasmine.com

Yeah, i read, just saying the info i have on spynomore shows by using urlvoid.com that spynomore has some issues. What i saw interesting was that Major Geeks and C-net shows listing for it, and they are good sites. Free to try (Scan only; no spyware removal); $29.95 to buy (Buy it now) I am seeing that at C-net and some reviews by customers : Results 1-10 of 17

    "SpyNoMore is a fraud"

    October 11, 2011 | By Josh....

    Version: SpyNoMore 2.96

    Pros

    it was uninstallable.

    Cons

Doesn't remove any viruses, costs money, a totally fake program with fake reviews.

    Summary

They create the viruses then to have the infected shell out money to buy the program "SpyNoMore" to remove it, SpyNoMore fails to remove the virus, it fails to remove anything for that matter. a classic case of Smitfraud

I think that caution should be used if this program is used, free or paid for, and if it is a google redirect , here is what Bleeping Computer recommends : How to remove Google Redirects or the TDSS, TDL3, or Alureon rootkit using TDSSKiller That has a step by step , if that is what that jasmine.com actually is.

Check this, urlvoid scan of that livejasmine :
    Report 2010-05-28 22:52:29 (GMT 1)
    Website livejasmine.com
    Domain Hash 034f1ea105598ed5b88634171dcc2b07

    AS Number 21844
    AS Name THEPLANET-AS - ThePlanet.com Internet Service...
    Detections 1 / 18 (6 %)
    Status SUSPICIOUS

And the one thing scanned with a hit on it was WOT . so, it is a real site and not a rogue virus / malware .

Re: How do I get rid of LiveJasmine.com

I suspect the whole thing is the 'jasmine' string is in the auto-completion history. With Firefox if you start typing in the address bar and something comes up you don't like, such as a url you mis-typed before, hold down the Shift key while pressing Delete. It will remove it from the history.

afa reviews, I take with a grain of salt. The "good" review I found could be influenced and so could the bad review. It's at the point now where software publishers won't let you register for their support forums unless you are a registered user of the product. The reason is people from the competition register using anonymous mail sites and post "complaints" and "issues" to make their competition look bad. It's becoming a circus.

edit: although generally speaking I don't use online "scanners" as I suspect a high percentage are a scare tactic to goad people into a purchase.

Ok, I tried the shift & delete thing but when I close and re-open the browser it is back. I have tried malwarebytes, ccCleaner, superantispyware, avira, and tdds and nothing worked.

I also tried spynomore, ran a scan and things showed up, but nothing with jasmine. I dont trust it though. It also wouldn't let me delete them unless i paid so i removed the program

Miles and i had a convo concerning that site. Somehow it got on you computer , but, it is not a virus, it is an actual site. Try the Control Key, H key , and right click on the livejasmine.com listing, if it is there and select the setting of forget about this site setting. Maybe it will help you.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by ctrl, h-key, and right click? When I hit ctrl and h, the history bar shows up....but it is blank
