Problem with email

I hope someone can help me. When I want to send an email, an email browser opens up and doesn't let me send the email. It says "email message not sent" and "this funtion is not available until I buy the software". I think it may be Outlook Express because some time ago I got a free trial of Microsoft Office and I forgot. So now I think it is expired and not letting me send emails. So, my question is, how do I fix this problem? I don't want to buy Microsoft office if I don't have to. Thanks.

Alternatively, you could use the web interface. Most email providers allow you to use a web interface to gain access to your emails, and also to post new ones and replies to ones that you have been sent. Some features might not be present in the web interface when compared to an email client such as Outlook or Live Mail, but they still allow you to use the email service. It's also another way of accessing them if, for some reason, you cannot access them through your normal client.
