I changed the settings. Only the inbound server settings. I don't have "clear text authentication" as an option.

Its currently downloading, but I've had that happen before - it looks like its ok, starts to download then will crash out at a random point, either straight away, or at some point into the download.

I know you've signed off for now. I'm just about to do the same, but just to let you know, I got to message 172 out of 545 and it crashed out with the same errors as before, even though the settings were changed. I am convinced this is an inbox integrity problem. Its happened before but since the point where AT&T have been the driving force rather than Yahoo or SBCGlobal, I am getting a very negative response from them whenever I even hint that the problem may be their end.

Any ideas?

Well I appreciate you looking at this for me.

Since you also have AT&T, would you happen to have - by chance - a phone number that would get me to a level of support that is beyond the simple entry level, read off a script scenario that one always seems to get when contacting support?
