Java update issue 7-5

Updated to Java 7-5 through the Java website and Java and Java FX were updated. There was a problem however so I uninstalled Java and Java FX and reinstalled by manually downloading the Java update rather than using the website directly. Java 7-5 was installed and is working but Java FX was not installed. Any idea why Java FX was not installed? Is it because I manually downloaded the package? That doesn't seem to make much sense.

Thanks as always.
VFN

Update: Uninstalled 7-5, installed 7-4 again, then installed 7-5 through the website. Java and FX were both updated but as before Java is not working. It is not recognized as installed on the Java site or other sites where Java is used. Either my PC is messed-up or their online installer is.

Update: Uninstalled 7-5 (though the uninstaller seemed to say 7-4) and reinstalled manually. Things appear to be working.

Thanks for replying. As per my first post Java is now working. I posted to see if anyone had a similar problem or knew why.

I've seen elsewhere that problems with Java is not uncommon.

Thanks.

Hi VFN,

Thanks, I was just making sure. I would hate to see a thread go unanswered.

As for the cause of this, I don't know. It would be hard to find a cause now the problem is resolved, but if I ever come across a cause, I'll post it here :)
