Solved Is this safe for me to do?

My suggestion is that you leave well enough alone. The software in your computer was developed to give the user what they want. Although, I cannot see any immediate problem by the changes that are suggested, the gain is nominal, a few milliseconds of speed, that will probably be cancelled out by the speed of the website that you are visiting. I have seen many BSODs result from improvements that the computer user makes to the installed software.
I will tell you now others are going to come by and disagree. They will tell you try it, you can always reinstall, make a system restore etc. To them I say its just not worth the effort.

I think that you have the cheap plan, you cant go much faster.

The best you could do is 1mbps.

At-least where you guys live you get what you pay for, lol.

Canadian companies make you pay high fees for speeds like "50 Mbps and 100 Mbps" when they actually provide you with a quarter of the speed.

For example, this is "High speed business internet promised @ 25mbps"

Yet my home internet which offers me also 25 Mbps on another company allows me about 16 or 17 Mbps.
I think it also has to do with the quality of the computer, and if using wifi, the quality of the router.
