For the past 3 days, each and EVERYTIME I boot up my computer and go to my email (using Windows Mail) the MAIL program goes thru a "recovery message" sequence. And now I have multiple Recovered Messages directories - including inbox folders, deleted folder ect. to choose from

What is goint on with the MAIL program?

I have used this program for the pas 4 years or so and never had this happen.

Help please

Try a system restore to a point before the problem started.

I restored to an earlier date than when this problem started.

I then went back to my MAIL program and BINGO!.. another process of recovering messages continues including a new set of associated folders generated.

I closed the MAIL Program and then reopened and ... BINGO!.. another processes, recovery and generations of folders.

I logged off my profie, went to the other user (wife) and opened her MAIL program...
nothing.... it just downloaded emails waiting on her server.

I logged back onto my user.. opened the MAIL program and .... BINGO!.. you get the picture.

So what now?
This problem is with MY user MAIL account only.

Re: Vista Mail Problems with Recoverd Messages

Welcome
This is what I would try. Make a system restore to go back if needed. Back up your important messages. Uninstall Windows Mail, boot. Now install again. You most likely do not have the most current, which is Windows Mail 2012.

Hi mgcompton,

In addition to what richc46 has said you can back-up all the important e-mails and then try to re-configure your email and check if it works.

If issue persists, create a new user account and configure with the same e-mail and check if it works. Please use the following link for detailed instructions to create a new user account, ensure that the new user account is an Administrator account: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/93009-user-account-create.html

To back-up emails from windows mail please follow the link for detailed instructions: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/90298-windows-mail-messages.html

Please post back with the results.
