| Vista Home Premium 32bit | PC tower mods Hi guys, I have an old tower I want to modify my self. Just going to screw around and make it "uber" lol just for a little fun. I want to cut out my own pattern in the side and put some perspex in there. What I want to know is what do you think would be the best tool to use to cut the side out so as not to leave any sharp edges or have it looking dodgy. TIA for your help. |

| Windows 7 RC x64 Vista HP x86 | Re: PC tower mods Hi matty, and welcome to the forums, ![]() I think the answer here depends on what experience you have with cutting metal and perspex, and also what tools you have available. basically it could all be done using manual tools Drill. saw and files. Obviously if you have access to power tools then that would make things easier. another option is to make friends with your local auto body shop. you do all the design and let them do the cuttingwhichever way you decide to go take photographs of the process and post before and after here, I'm sure there are other posters who would love to see this project develop you may want to have a look Here for some inspiration and even some further help anyway good luck with the project |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: PC tower mods Hi Barman58, Thanks for the welcome. I plan on taking pics as I go along. It is good to document these things not only for others but just for personal satisfaction. This is what I started with and this is the finished project. I have had a look at that thread and there is some awesome systems in there. Would love to have 4 monitors going lol. I am going to sit down over the next few days and work out my budget. I don't want to go to high end otherwise I will be broke lol. I want to use it as a basic media centre. I am turning my back room into a little mini theatre. Will keep this updated once I start and also have a final rpoduct. |
