What's your favourite beer?

G'day, in typical Aussie fashion I thought I'd ask what everyone likes to drink. The title of this thread might ask about beer, but it could be any old vice - beer, wine, etc, etc.

We're spoilt for choice in this Land Downunder. It seems a new brew hits the shelves every few weeks, either local or imported. Regarding the local varieties, I'd guess we have a few dozen to choose from.

My personal favorite when it hits 'beer o'clock' (after 5pm) are the beers brewed by the Tasmanian company, Cascade. Presently, I'm enjoying their eco-friendly brew, Cascade Green. Very nice drop if you can get your hands on one!

I also like South Aussie brewer, Coopers, for their naturally fermented beers. Very nice when flipping sausages over the barbie...please, don't mention shrimp or crocodile. It rarely happens!

What I don't like are the mass produced beers made by Carlton & United (CUB), like VB, Carlton Draught and, their international joke, Foster's. I can stomach their Crown brand, though.

Anyway, I thought it might be fun to learn our drinking habits - those with serious problems need not apply. LOL. Give us your best and worst, if you like!

PS: I once tried a Czech beer I think called, Dark Horse, that was superb. Other than that, I have enjoyed the odd Mexican, Danish and German brew...but I'm still experimenting.

Cheers!

If I have a beer(which is very rare) I like pure blonde but my main drink is Jack Daniels.

A really good scotch - first and foremost but for just sipping a great red wine Il Papavero is pretty good! And when i am down under Swan is not bad. I think Dmex will vouch for that one!

In the hot summer I like the Mexican stuff with a lime...Corona, Dos Equis, Landshark (not mexican ) and in the winter I like the ciders such as Woodchuck or Hornsby's or preferrably a Newcastle brown.

I pretty much like all beers, but the dark thicker stuff really does me good.

Living just south of PA I drink a lot of Yuengling Black & Tan, which I actually think is a lot better than a Guinness/Harp black & tan. Although I suppose here in the states that's called a half & half, a Bass/Guinness is a proper Black & Tan.

Anyway, it has a nice caramel/coffee type flavor.
