    World tour of data breaches

    Hi All,

Just thought I'd share this interesting way of presenting the recent spate of data losses in the UK

Just so you know Nigel, all your personal info is sitting in my in-tray, along with that of 40 million other Brits. It was contained in a memory stick found on a bus stop seat at Lower Ettamogah, Beyond the Black Stump, A joke! LOL But, this is a huge problem. Why bother with viruses etc. when all you need is a laptop or memory stick and the opportunity. Voila. Big Bucks, and millions of people have their privacy invaded and identities stolen.

    Hi norm,

what annoys me is that with these British cases the laptops concerned, mostly if not all had encryption facilities, either software or hardware, that was not enabled. it makes me wonder who they have running their IT departments

things will get misplaced, were talking about human beings, (I know they're civil servants, but I'm being nice today ), but not using the protection thats available does annoy me.

Ah well think I'll go to the Pub to cool off
