"The Commodore 64 (1982) retains the record as the most successful single computer model ever, selling over 10 million units."

I found this to be an interesting stat. Here are a few more. Take's me back to my Apple IIc in 1984-1985. Sitting there for hours copying code from a book into my new IIc. I should be better at this stuff after all those years.

I was only 8-9 at that time. I still loved computers back then. My parents forked over a lot of $$ for that IIc. haha. The bad part of the story is that turned me off to computers for about 15 years. I could still build a rocket in BASIC though.

I remember being made to wash my hands, along with a bunch of other teenagers who were queueing up, before I could touch the marvel that was a friend's dad's shiny new IIc. I hope they look back on that episode now and laugh. I know I do :)

I had a Sinclair Spectrum with 48KB of Random Access Memory and twin 3.5mm mini-jacks for tape deck input and output. You loaded games by having the computer "listen" to the code on the casette tape being played back as a series of clicks and whistles. Strangely, the games were better.

Strange how we have seen it all when it comes to PCs. I wish I had stayed into them. I missed out on 10-15 years then (just a few years ago) got a PC with a 8GB HD, 466 MHz processor, and 64 MB of DRAM. That was my first real computer. I have it right here. (torn apart) haha
