Hey guys,

I've often wondered what the most reliable, well-performing, and affordable PC manufacturers are. I currently have a HP, but have experienced more problems with it than any other company :(.
I wish I had bought a DELL! :p

What is your preferred manufacturer? Or are you Custom?

Technically I do, but only my wife uses it...trying to use something with just one screen is just too restrictive to be of any use to me.

Used to always buy Evesham until they went bust :(

Just bought a top of the range desktop from Mesh with Vista 64. No problems so far, works as advertised.

Too old to even think about building my own

My laptop is hp and used as a backup computer (mainly when the kids visit), the main computer is self built.

ABIT, Creative and corsiar are my preferred. With intel cpus, used to be AMD but Intel did get better.
ATI or Nvidea, Nvidea.

For monitors I would go with dell, they have a better colour profile which is good for my photographic work.

My first self-owned PC (this one) is an HP laptop. It sucks to have to buy it from someone else. I feel it's got someone else's fingerprints all over the glossy finish. Geez, what I went through to get the bloatware out with a clean install...

I'm never gonna buy someone else's computer again. Speaking of which, does anyone know how tough would it be to custom build my own laptop? I might even start a new thread for this one...

Self built...always. My first 2 PC's were given to me, one was custom, and the other was an HP POS.

Not quite sure what i'm going to do about a laptop since I want one so bad. I really don't want to "buy" something I won't like.

I'll build my own pc in a month or so, standard store pc's are poor value and there is no value in buying them anyway. As for laptops, I'll go with Sony. Shame they haven't updated their hybrid drivers, though. I might consider Dell. Either way, there is no point for laptots above 13.3", too heavy, and they arn't worth it.

Well, for desktops i build my own bc then im my own tech support and for laptops i prefer HP, but in my own view i believe that AMD laptops tend to get hotter/over heat more than intel based ones, but it could just be the older AMD chips that do.
