Re: In porgress

Thanks, Richard! I didn't even notice this thread until a few moments ago.

We are making progress even if things seem to be a bit slow today - both answering the occasional new questions and working to solve (or maybe just understand) some that remain unanswered (or where the OP doesn't like the answer and wants another option - :zip:). I'm struggling with a couple (well, 5 to be exact), but continuing to research them hoping to find something less than recommending a drastic solution. Being a bit slow actually may be a blessing by giving me the time to do it a bit more thoroughly (but even with the extra time, I've not yet gotten much further on any of them ) but the day is still young (though my typically more focused and productive part is over).

Forget rep, it would be nice if more of those we help took time to thank us or at the least let us know the problem or question is resolved. I find it frustrating to spend an hour or more on a reply (or sometimes even more time on a series of back and forth replies), feeling sure I've finally provided good options or even all but certain it contained the answer being sought, and then we hear absolutely nothing at all and the thread just fades away into history. But I've been doing this sort of thing long enough to know that's much more common and it shouldn't bother me anymore (and it is much better than it was when I first started this type of thing - not that it happens less but that I don't feel nearly so disappointed) but sometimes it still does.

Anyway, back to it. Maybe I'll be hit with a bolt of inspiration or enter the exactly proper search term and break one or two of these troublesome ones - and get in a few other posts in the meantime.

Re: In porgress

You are making excellent posts Lorien. I think because of the slow week, both thank you's and reps have been at a minimum.
I get the best feeling when working alone, with 3 or 4 exchanges and then I see the smiley and thank you.
Just imagine how great I felt in the Seven Forum with this thank you

Re: In porgress

That was an amazing thank you! I've seen a few that extreme myself, but not very often. I'd settle for a simple "The problem is resolved. Thanks for your help." (with or without a smiley face or rep ;)).

It doesn't really matter to me if I did it on my own or as part of a team effort, as long as it got resolved and I know that I was part of it. But the key there is knowing it was resolved. In most cases, the example you provided would have ended with your post of the solution and then silence.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words of inspiration and encouragement. They are greatly appreciated and motivating.
