Thanks! It's installed. The only unfortunate part is that I have only one partition and OS on my laptop, so if I ever do need it I will need to use the laptop (which risks overwriting of data). But still, it will probably work better than even Recuva. It's too bad we can't somehow make this offer permanent (make it freeware in effect) so we could add it to the recommended software listing.

Actually, I think I'll install it on all of my computers and thus increase the odds I can slave a bad drive to a system that has the program already installed. I don't have a way to connect the laptop hard drive to another system at the moment, but if the circumstances require it, I'm sure I can obtain the proper adapters and/or connectors to do it somehow and that will help protect all my computers at the same time.

They asked nothing personal, but perhaps I allowed them to do so through the terms and conditions (though I don't know how they would have done that) - so I'm not expecting any new SPAM in that account but it's always possible (still, I didn't even give them a name or email address or anything). I just hope they didn't install something in IE that's similar to adware (but no alarms went off). Still, I think I'll check things out anyway with a few full scans just to be on the safe side as I've never used this site before and had YOU not posted it, would almost certainly not even have gone to that address as the name itself is beyond suspicious to say the least.

Anyway, thanks and I'll give it a trial run later on and compare what it finds to what Recuva finds and see if there's much of a difference (worth people spending $70 instead of using freeware).
