How about a welcome gift, the best way to maintain your computer

To maintain your computer

10 Tips on How to Properly Maintain Your Computer

Steps that I did not notice on the guide include:

Running a scan disc before doing a defrag

Using Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes.

Making System Restore points, at least once a week

Makaing a system Image once a month (varies by user)

Not relying on your A/V common sense, should prevail. You know of many sites can cause a problem.

Do not use any reg cleaning or optimizing software.

Download and use Ccleaner about once every two months. Untick any registry entries.
http://www.piriform.com/

If you follow these instructions, you will be trouble free for a long time to come.

Be sure to back up your hard drive about once a month (varies by user) and to keeep system restore points up to date.

I already try to ensure "safety first" in all my computing meanderings, do not visit anything likely to harm, run the things you mentioned and try my best to maintain a good and healthy pc-lifestyle. Your advice is heeded and i will try my best to keep it that way....erm, i've already got lost a little, i was looking at the rep badge explanations etc, but have taken a wrong turn and got myself lost. Could you please perhaps tell me where that is? Thank you Sir

I found it, just couldn't see for looking. Sorry bout that, operator error:oits called. Richard thanks (again), your a star. Sadly i better go, its past the witching hour here in Scotland, i hope the USA'ers had a good 4th day. We Scots tend to celebrate any day that ends in a "Y", thats reason enough and the whisky's a bonus too. Anyway, you take care and i hope we can chat again soon. X
