Well I recieved my newelly configured PC on Friday. I installed Vista Ultimate x64 on it and have had no problems what so ever untill tonight. I was installing SP2 from the Windows Upgrader and got a BSOD. So I'm not 100% sure if it downloaded it sucessfully or if it got corrupted. A couple of hours later I got a BSOD again and i can not get into windows because it countinues BSOD'ing when it reached the startup screen. I get the error driver_irql_not_less_or_equal. I have googled it but i am the only one who is not able to get into windows due to this problem. I'm not able to re-format because after the CD 'Finishes loading' I get BSOD, nor am I able to Boot into safemode because when it has finished loading the core drivers it restarts.

My specs are:
Intel quad core 9550
8 gig ram
GeForve 9800GTX+

PS: I'm not really sure where which section I was supossed to post this so please move it to a more suitable section it there is one.

Have you tried using any of the other options you get when you F8 at restart?

How about Recovery console or Repair from the DVD instead of a full blowned installation?

Have you tried opening your case, pulling your Ram, HDD(s), video & audio cards out and re inserting them again. this may not be a permanent solution but in some cases, I have heard that people have been able to get to the desktop and go from there.

Clearing your Cmos will probably cause the problem to go away as well. Again, not permament but just a little push to get to the desktop and fix the issue from there.

+1 on what firestrader said, w/o the Stop error you'll be hard pressed to find an easy solution.

I am only suggesting this because it seems you have nothing there that you want to save since it is a brand new setup, otherwise, I wouldn't suggest for fear of botching more than help.

Hi goldengold...

it looks like it could be a bad RAM stick.?, try each DIMM individually to get it to post
you said this machine was ''configured'' does that mean overclocked..?? if so this maybe a voltage issue

i think you should try & get the H/W possibilities out of the way first because the S/W problems are where the nightmare begins.

That message indicates that a driver (usually kernel mode) is accessing invalid memory allocation, or one of any other myriad of problems.

There is always more info on the BSOD along with this message, the Stop Error codes, and most likely a module name. Can you please post all th info from the BSOD as we can use that to isolate this problem.

Isn't Vista SP2 still in Beta? Or possibly even in Alpha...I can't remember but it's usually NOT a good idea to install these pre-release versions unless you're an experienced development tester with Bug checkers installed and working.
