Blue screen error

Haloo people i have a problem with my pc...i was runnin on Vista Home BAsic and i installed Vista Ultimate on another partition so as to run with both...but that when my problem started, After running a few minutes or so on Ultimate it the pc jus showd a blue screen and shut down immediatley....this kept on hapenning and i went back to Home basic afta that i uninstalled ultimate but then the problem was now also happeneing while running on home basic....eventually i formated my pc and put Home premium but m still enconunterring a problem....pliz help
oh one more thing i cleaned my pc and while cleeaning i remived the some sticky stuff between the proccessor and the heat sink m not too sure wat that was...does it have any significance to the running of my pc

That sticky stuff is there to help move the heat from the processor to the heatsink.
It is called thermal paste. Go to your local shop and buy some more.
Shut down your computer and get a friend to remove the heatsink, apply the new paste and then put the heatsink back on.
