Have you checked C:\Windows\Minidump for the files?
Have you checked C:\Windows for a file named "MEMORY.dmp"?
Have you searched your hard drive for files ending in .dmp?

Hardware failures are the most common reason for these, with memory errors being the most common form of hardware error.
Run the built in Vista memory diagnostic first: BC - Vista Memory Diagnostic
If the memory test passes, download an alternative anti-virus program (google for "avast free" or "avira free" (without the quotes) if you don't know of one).
Once that's done, download the free Norton Removal Tool: Download and run the Norton Removal Tool
Run the Norton Removal tool, reboot and install the new antivirus. Then update the new antivirus. Then perform a system scan.

This is in case the malware has corrupted your system - the online scanners can't be corrupted, so they'll give a truer indication of the status of your system.
Update your drivers. This is important to do before running Driver Verifier.
Run Driver Verifier.
