BSoD

I reformatted my harddrive. Installed up to date drivers.
Thought everything was going fine and bam. BSoD again.
I'll attach the dump file.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I have never had so many problems before.
Constant problems since the computer was built. About 2 weeks old.

Whats your computers specs? Model? Brand? Are you using a wired internet connection? or wireless? What brand of card if wireless?

avgnsa.exe was the executable that caused it, so I'm assuming by that your using AVG 8.5 for your anti-virus, this program is the link scanner for AVG and utilizes your network connection. The actual problem is your network driver: netr28ux.sys

So post your computers information and I will look for any updates for you :)

The netr28ux.sys is the Belkin 64 bit driver dll and frequently is the contributing cause for bsod's

just a note in passing.. CH is of course correct, as usual

I seen you have 2 threads on this topic, I found your other one, got some info off of that, try downloading the latest driver for your wireless card then post back. Also, I seen you asked about SP2, install that also. After the driver is installed the BSOD's should stop, as you fixed the problem directly.

Driver download from Encore's site, just choose the correct model (Left side of the page)

Usually when people ask for computer specs this does it for them..

I'm running Vista 64 SP1

Asus M4A79T Deluxe Mother Board

2x2gb G.Skill DDR3 1600 Ram. 1.6v, 9-9-9-24 Timings

XFX Radeon 4890

640gb Western Digital HDD

Phenom 2 x4 955 BE

Encore ENUWI-N 802.11n Wireless USB adapter

Cooler Master Storm Scout Case

Scythe Mugen 2 CPU Cooler (My temps are a little high though, nothing dangerous but around 40c 48c at the highest =/ Running stock as well, no OC)

Samsung DVD drive, nothing special.

Those are all my specs.

I did install the driver off the website btw. From the link you gave me. Is this just not x64 compatible? I have read reviews where people have ran it fine on x64. But it seems like thats my problem? I can't find an actual 64bit driver. There is just one link for one driver.

Can I get a Ralink driver to work instead possibly?

My Computer

Uninstall the old one driver, unplug the device, reboot the pc, then plug it back in. That should force Vista to download the latest working driver.

How was it installed in the first place? It has to be installed without a internet connection. I recall from a previous post it came with a cd, and you installed the driver from that and it still caused the BSOD?

Well it did come with a disc. I originally installed the driver off that disc. And got BSoDs. Then I uninstalled it and went to the website on another computer. Downloaded the driver off the website and transferred it with my PSP. And still got BSoDs.

This is just the 802.11n Wireless USB Adapter (ENUWI-N)

This driver doesnt work?

Encore Electronics, Inc.

I would install the cd driver first, then update it to that one, or leave it blank, no drivers, not connected, this way it is fresh to your system then install the driver above.

That was the last driver I had. I'll give it another shot. I was reading reviews on saying it isn't x64 compatible and people were getting BSoDs from it. But as often as I read those reviews I would read people saying it worked fine with x64.

My Computer

Well it says its vista compatible, just doesn't specify between x86 or x64...

Try it again fresh and see what happens. If it bsod's again, post the dump. I would like to compare the results.

I havn't seen a BSoD in awhile. I havnt been using my computer that much but I would of expected one by now. What has been happening though is games will freeze. Such as Left4Dead and Unreal Tournament 3. I don't get a BSoD. They just freeze with an audio loop and I have to force a reboot. Doesn't happen right away. But after about an hour it usually does.

My Computer

Have you updated the games and the all your drivers - sound etc?

Is it overheating? If its a laptop blow out the case vents. If its a desktop take off the side panel and apply some elbow grease ;)
