Blue dots vista

Hi i have a dell vostro i turned it on and now i get blue dots on the screen windows tries to start then goes to a blue crash dump screen could anyone please help

can you boot to safe mode?
has this always happened or brand new? if it just happened, did you do any installations (software, updates) immediately before?
please fill in your system specs...

Also, go to c:\windows\minidump, zip the dump file (*.dmp) and upload it to us by using the attachment icon (shaped like a paperclip) in the reply form.

Possible bad video card, but many other possibilities as well...

If it works in safe mode, then you card should be fine. Is this a notebook or desktop? Look at the bottom or back or your computer to find make and model. The more specific, the better. First thing, we need to install a new video driver. Stay in safe mode and don't explore anywhere dangerous.

Get back with that info...

It's referencing a graphic driver dxgkrnl.sys issue. PLEASE let me know the make and model of your video card as indicated above.

it is a dell vostro 1700 150gb hdd 2 gb ram i think the video card is sigma tel high definition audio CODEC does this help atall

well that's interesting. it doesn't know what adapter is installed - which means a video driver for the card is not installed. Hang on a second...

Select 32-bit Vista for your operating system.
Click on the VIDEO tab below.
Select the NVidia Driver (CLICK DOWNLOAD NOW)
After this downloads, double click on the downloaded file to install to your system.
You will probably need to reboot.

hi i have tried this with no luck i am not signed in to safe mode as admin would this make a difference my dad never set a password for this so i dont know what it would be
