Blue screen of death

My computer recently ran an automatic Chkdsk on start up . I am unsure why. Afterward I logged in and my sound and networking was disabled and I was getting all of these notifications about so an so programs data is corrupt. so I rebooted.
I was prompted with the chkdsk before the above and I bypassed it to log in. Everything was working fine. Now I am getting 1 of 2 blue screens every time I try to boot. I've tried safe mode and the farthest I've gotten is a black screen with only the cursor visible.
I've tried a start up repair from the installation CD to no avail.

I have been using my computer for about 7 months now I've built it myself
I'd have the system specs but my computer is not operational to provide them.
This problem has now just started to occur.
Any help would be appreciated
