So I was just watching some videos on new scientist about some crazy s*** [link] when the computer goes to a blue screen. Now I do have BOINC running in the background but that hasn't ever given me hastle but you never know.

Technical Information:
*** STOP: x0x000000E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000047, 0XFFFFF800034CE1E4, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)

I know you want the logs, I'm just trying to find them all atm, and the wine doesn't help with that ^_^

Cheers,
Anthony.

To be honest, I wouldn't worry about a single crash. Normally when we help with BSODs, it's because they are a recurring problem, with some degree of repeatability.

Our troubleshooting steps may be more trouble that it's worth to you at this point.

If you would like to stop reading now, go ahead.

I see some old drivers:
Code:
ASACPI.sys Mon Oct 30 22:09:12 2006
AsIO.sys Thu Oct 14 05:53:21 2004
Go here: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

Input your motherboard, and install both the PC Probe and the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit" utilities.

You may also enable driver verifier: Using Driver Verifier to identify issues with Drivers - Windows 7 Forums

That will make your computer crash even more!

I've been having quite a few Blue screens of late, this is the only other crashdump I have because the machine froze whilst trying to dump the last time.. I'm thinking it could be something to do with putting the computer to sleep. and I am downloading a torrent to an ext hdd...

EDIT: drivers haven't been updated btw...

Hello twoods,
Here are the results of your bugcheck.

STOP 0x0000007E: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

Usual causes: Insufficient disk space, Device driver, Video card, Bios, Breakpoint with no debugger attached, Hardware incompatibility, Faulty system service, Memory, 3rd party remote control,

Probably caused by : srvnet.sys
The srvnet.sys process is part of Microsoft Windows.
Description: Server Network driver.

Have you run driver verifier as Jonathan_King suggested ?.

Open a command prompt as administrator and type sfc/scannow press enter and let it scan, if errors are found you will need to scan again, until clean.

As you are downloading torrent files, i would suggest a malware scan. Torrent files are prone to having malware and virus's.
This is one of the best.

Malwarebytes

You need to update the drivers asap, we cant eliminate them until they are updated.

If you want to re-install the drivers and you have a Vista disk, follow this tutorial.

Hope this helps, good luck and post your results.

I'm trying guys I just like to enjoy what my comp can do and these steps sound as though they would take a couple of days off me at least. Will try the Driver approach first as I think that may be the culprit personally. I like to think I am careful enough with torrents not to get stung like that. I will update this thread this weekend anyway. Peace out.
