Windows loads, but logon won't appear

Greetings,
Im having some problems with the login on my Packard Bell Easynote LJ61 with Vista Home premium 32bit. When I turn the computer on, everything seems fine, and it starts loading Windows. The load bar keeps loading a few seconds, like it normally does, and then it goes away, like its about to bring the logon screen up, but after the load sequence is done, the screen just stays black, and nothing happens.. Its happened a few times before aswell, but it has always worked restarting the computer, but that doesn't seem to be working at the moment..
Any ideas? A fix would make me a very very happy man, got quite alot of school stuff on this computer.. :(
Regards,
Truls.

Hi. welcome to VIstax64 forum.

I have experience this problem with a compaq presario laptop as well, you can update your graphic (vga)driver..
Do you leave the laptop on charge a lot?? I can assume that this is not a windows issue but rather a hardware issue...

Thoughts??

Im not entierly sure how to update the driver when I can't seem to get onto the computer.. Im not very good with the computer :(

And yeah, it does charge alot. Constantly is more correct, to be honest.. The battery time is kind of crappy, so I feel I need to charge it for it not to run out of bat within 30-45 mins. :(

Have you not played around with the "FN + F4 or F5" Button? as those are to project the display to a external monitor or projector!!

Did you tried to start the computer on "safe mode" can do that by tapping on the "F8 or F9" button when the laptop starts..

Another thing, "remove the battery and charger" then press and hold the power button for 60 seconds and put back the battery and charger and try to start the laptop.

If still not working, try to remove the battery and put only the charger and try to start the laptop..

cheers..
Ash
