Unable to create New Folder on desktop

When I right click on the desktop and click on New and Folder I get a blue box (attached pic) saying "Access Denied... you need permission to realize this". I am logged on as administrator and until recently had no problem creating a new folder on my desktop. I can still create new folders everywhere else. I can still create a new briefcase on the desktop.

I'm running Vista Home Premium 32bit service pack 2

Can anyone help?

Al

My guess would be that there is some mixup in your registry. Here is some help on how to deal with this part of the registry. But before you modify the registry, take a restore point in case things go wrong.
