Vista won't start.

I have been running vista premium 64bit for almost two years with almost no issues, until recently. Whenever I start my computer I see my motherboard logo and then it goes to a black screen with a flashing cursor in the upper right hand corner of the screen and after a few seconds the entire screen goes black. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I tried running the Startup Repair and it says that if I have recently attached any USB related objects to remove them. I removed all related items and ran it again, and I received the same error. If you have any advice on what to do please post.
I have also tried a system restore from a week ago when my PC and Vista where running fine.

Welcome to the Windows Vista Forums!

I've had some problems like this before with the cursor just flashes and Windows doesn't start. I usually disconnect my hard drive connection and then reconnect. Then problem solved. I think its my board, but it hasn't happen recently.

Are you up to date with updates?

Have you had any hardware changes?
