i am running vista 64bit home premium service pac 2 (HP pavillion elite m9340f , 6gig), i have my updates set automatically , i recently changed from norton antivirus to mcafee (about one week plus ago), when the problems really started , i have all printers and other usb things detacted , except my realtec audio , keyboard and mouse ,

i also had a bsod 0x000000a (0x000001ab9426122, p2 , p3 , p4) but mostly it is the one listed in my thread title with the complete list as ( 0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff800101368c2, 0xfffffa60023d48d8, 0xfffffa60023d42b0) , there have been others related to the first 10-12 digits of that string with only the last 8 or so numbers/letters varying .

minidump file is attached

the system restore , only works for an initial work setting or time , then crashes , or has problems on startup after idle time .

i will be updating windows after this post or should i ? i am just waiting to restart yet that always seems to be the problem , last night i followed the instuctions for updates and today barely got my system running , the startup repair isnt even working , i read something about , debugging encryption device or driver and vista ?

also , about a month ago , i started losing my curser , had to cntl alt delete , to retrieve it , related ? , and a weird computer churp while my computer was sleeping about every hour or 2 , it was barely noticable that also was during the last month of my norton antivirus supscription ,

hope i gave enough info .

thanx

ok here is an update , i ran that update list 2 nights ago , another difficult crash in the morning , restore with a normalish computer , then another bsod while in sleep mode to test the fix last night , fixed with the startup repair . rather easily this time

i am thinking its something with my mcafee and vista

there is one new minidump available if requested

I only ran the 6 memory dumps from July. The next most recent was from May, so I chose not to include it.

The first dump file mentions McAfee in the stack text. Please do the following:
Anti-Virus Removal:
Please do the following:
- download a free antivirus for testing purposes: Free AntiVirus
- uninstall the McAfee from your system (you can reinstall it, if so desired, when we're done troubleshooting)
- remove any remnants of McAfee using this free tool: How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee consumer products using the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe)
- IMMEDIATELY install and update the free antivirus
- check to see if this fixes the BSOD's

More to follow once the memory dumps are finished running....

The rest of the memory dumps refer to networking - which can also be due to McAfee.
Please remove the McAfee as described above and test for further BSOD's.

If you get more, please post them and we'll work on fixing them - but I suspect that fixing the McAfee will fix the errors for you.
