ok, so i reinstalled Windows Vista x32 Home Premium. Since i couldn't stand the copy of Win7 i had, (Don't be so shocked to know that i didn't buy Win7, i just tried out a bootleg copy) didn't like it so i went back to what i got now... however, since i have no Optical drive capable of bootup installation, i cannot get EVERYTHING back the way it was already, SO, I have an HP DELL laptop, i don't know why its part Dell, but it is.

My biggest issue is i need to trick this os, or bios, or whatever, into thinking it can boot from my external optical drive. and after that, re format my entire system and install it correctly. with all the stupid registry thingies i can't do it myself, so i ask you guys.

how do i re configure my external optical drive (usb>usb hub>Gear Head Mobile Slim)

and if not able to do above, how do i tell my computer it's only an HP, not part DELL

I'm not that dunce, it has the option for a USB HDD but not a USB Optical Drive. I need some way to make it happen. also, that link has x64 in it, i have the 32 bit version, (dunceness kicking in) would it be the same? keep in mind i have Pheonix BIOS... i think.

I have tried every possible way to do this stuff, NOTHING seems to work.

just finished reading through this thread you posted, and it doesn't seem to shed any new grounds that i haven't tried.

ANY MODS FOR ADDING DRIVES TO MOBO AFTER IT BEGINS TO FAIL?
