I have a Vismobile laptop with Vista Business operating system. As of about 2 days ago It started saying "windows failed to start". It wants me to insert my windows installation disc and restart the computer. The problem is A) I have no Installation disc. and B) windows will not boot far enough for me to restart it.
It will not boot in any mode in anyway. Neither under the f8 menu. Safe mode etc. nothing works. It will not go to the user screen it simply says. Could not locate hive file. Does a virtual crash dump and restarts. Continues to do this until i unplug it.please HELP! The computer worked 3 days ago!

Can you run bootable diagnostics?
If so, try these:

Okay I run Diagnostics once completed it continues to blue screen then restarts it helps nothing

What were the results of the diagnostics? Did they pass the hard drive and the memory?
If that's the case then you're probably going to need the installation DVD. I'd suggest contacting Vismobile for a copy.

fixed....... downloaded vista recovery disc........ burned iso to DVD. Booted from cd rom drive..... repaired my computer......... fixed for anyone else with this problem just ask
