Vista HP 32 will not complete bootup

After installing Microsoft updates the system does not complete the boot sequence. Goes to a point where there is a black screen with a cursor. If you ctl/acl/del you can get to the "Task Manager" and then run "explorer" and all is well but you need to start the "sidebar" manually as well. At that point the system runs normally.

Very strange.

I have done that and while it works, the problem reoccurs when the updates are reinstalled. So the question is what in the updates causes this and how do you correct it.

If you want an official hp vista iso for reinstalling I'll put it in
